NVTRP offers various summer riding packages that are designed to integrate children with and without disabilities through riding programs and many other equine-related activities. Participants learn tolerance, compassion, and respect for differences while improving their cognitive, physical and horsemanship skills.
Ponies and Paint Brushes Art Therapy Camp
Dates: July 25 – 29, 2016
Join NVTRP this summer for a week of horse-filled fun in the sun! During this camp designed for therapeutic riders, campers will not only get to ride, but will also learn basic horse skills such as grooming, feeding and tacking and un-tacking. Between barn activities, campers will have a chance to practice their others skills with various horse-related arts, crafts, games and art therapy! Water will be provided to keep those busy campers hydrated, but riders are responsible for bringing their own lunch, a change of clothes, and any other personal needs. Attire: riding helmet-ASTM/SEI certified (required), riding pants and riding boots.
Equines for Everyone Camp
July 7 – 10, 2016
Join us this summer for an evening camp designed for teenagers and adults to either begin learning about horses or expand their equestrian knowledge. Participants will ride every day as well as attend various horsemanship workshops including: lunging, equine first aid, trailering, nutrition, and more! Beginner to Intermediate riders welcome. Participants must at least 14 years old.
